I ran in my first 5k race yesterday! It was in Canadaigua, NY and benefited the YMCA. Though the course was tough for me because it was hillier than I expected, I was so proud of myself when I crossed the finish line. I had a decent time, and I even managed to come in before a few people!!

I am so glad that I pushed myself to keep running this summer. In June, I wasn't even able to run a mile, and now I am running 3!! This is a perfect example of how anything you put your mind to is possible.

Of course you always need a mentor, who will be there to ask "Did you run today?" or "Keep going, you should be going 4 miles by now. You can do it." Without that person, you wouldn't know why your toes get numb in your sneakers. And I certainly wouldn't have had the willpower to continue running this summer. Thanks Dad.

  1. Congrats! You MUST be proud of yourself! Never in a million years could I do that. The toe-numbing thing would make me whine. :)

(Thanks for sending me your link!)

  2. Aww thank you!! It was hard, but it was something I HAD to do. So I was determined.

And you're welcome! I follow you too, but I have to admit, I'm comment shy! You have so many followers!

Comments make my day! Leave me some love :)
