October 4, 2011

In honor of the beginning of October, I want to share some of my most favorite autumn inspired things and activities. Fall is my favorite season by far, so this list was easy- peasy for me to think of.

1. How the leaves change colors. I am such a visual person, so when the leaves are all changing I absolutely love to drive around and look at them. When I go and visit Dave at school, I drive on this hilly section of highway that is surrounded by wind farms. There is nothing more beautiful than those hills with all the trees, surrounded by the stark white wind turbines.

2. Drinking hot apple cider. Cider is probably my favorite hot drink of all time. And though Tim Hortons offers it all year, I always feel weird drinking it in the spring or summer. Fall officially opens cider drinking season.

3. Fresh apples. I love apples. Going apple picking or going to a farm market just makes them ten times better. And when you have apples that are picked right from the tree during the season, you can tell the difference. When my family visited last weekend, I got a whole bunch of apples, and they were super delish.

4. Halloween. Who doesn't love Halloween? It is just so much fun. Dressing up in costumes, eating candy, carving pumpkins. I have a pumpkin already this year, and I am working out some plans on how to decorate it without carving. I have many ideas, but I just can't decide on one.

5. The weather. Most people hate the weather in the fall, but I absolutely love it. I don't even mind that it has been raining for 3 days in a row this week. I love the cool air that smells like leaves, the fact that you (usually) don't have to wear heavy coats, and the start of sweater season! Fall is just so cozy.

What is your favorite season? Does anyone love fall as much as I do?
xoxo alex
