Mad about Maxis

I have a new love...and I think Dave might be a little bit jealous. I have to admit I love me a maxi. There is just so much to love about them.

-They are great for this time of  year in Virginia, when it is warm/ hot outside, but inside the office is a chilly tundra.
-They cover up my currently white as a ghost legs.
-They come in cute colors and patterns, and everyone always comments on how "ready for summer" I look. And then I say to them, "duh!"

Honestly I don't know what took me so long. I just purchased my first one a couple of weeks ago, and it wasn't long before number two joined my closet. Observe:

The striped skirt is from Cotton On. It was on sale for $14.99. Not sure how I could pass that up. And the orangey-coral skirt is from Target. It was $17.99 and goes with a TON of stuff. This picture really doesn't do it any justice. I wore it yesterday with grey and white. That's when I got the "ready for summer" comment.

At first I was a little hesitant about wearing a long skirt, because I am pretty short at 5'4". I thought it would make me seem even shorter, and sort of stumpy. But it really doesn't. I feel super tall when I wear these. And they are really comfortable. I do a lot of walking and lifting and stuff for my job, and I never felt like I was held back because I was wearing a skirt. Especially because most maxi dresses and skirts are very flowy and made of breathable material, they feel very comfortable and can be both casual and dressy.
