Life Lately via Instagram

I have literally been working nonstop lately. Dave has been visiting his family and friends out of town, which is probably a good thing for this time of year. We have exactly 7 days left of our 12-13 season, and it is going out with a bang. At this point, I haven't had a day off since April 27.

But lots of things have happened in the past two weeks that I want to document, and I thought no better way than to use my Instagrams! (Clockwise from top left)

1. Beautiful Downtown Richmond, VA. This is one of the most ecclectic cities I have ever visited. This is the view from my hotel room at the Richmond Crowne Plaza while I was there on tour with The Marriage of Figaro with work. I didn't have much time to explore, but I am looking forward to being able to take some day trips in the summer.

2. Steamed shrimp at our favorite local dive bar. This might be my favorite new (to me) food. I had never thought I would like steamed shrimp, but once I tried them... I won't stop/can't stop. It doesn't hurt that our favorite local dive bar is within walking distance from our apartment and has a deck that overlooks the beach....

3. Chillin in an art gallery while listening to a season preview concert. I had to drive some of our Emerging Artists up to Northern Virginia to give a concert previewing our 13-14 season. The concert was great, but artist wrangling has it's dull moments. At least there was pretty scenery!

4. One of our long time choristers was diagnosed with liver cancer a couple weeks ago. He passed away on Tuesday, but there was a celebration of life party thrown for him at his home on Sunday, complete with lots of singing and a sparkler salute. It was so beautiful to see all the love surrounding this person, and the feeling of community that we all shared. I think all of us will remember that night for a long, long time. This is his Obituary.

Hopefully, once our season is over, I will have a little bit more time to think! I have lots of plans for the summer, which means lots of stories and pictures!! I am also looking forward to my first trip home all year over Memorial Day weekend!! Yay Rochester!!
