April 20, 2014

have taken quite the hiatus from my little corner of the internet. To my readers (aka fam & friends), I'm very sorry. This year has gone by in a whirlwind.

There have been a number of things that are worth noting though, so I'm going to do my best to share this year through photos and some intermittent chatter.

This summer started my second season with Virginia Opera. We started the season off with two wonderful, free Opera in the Park concerts in Norfolk and Richmond.

We celebrated birthdays, Christmas and the New Year together in Norfolk, but traveled home to see family for Thanksgiving. Traveling was hard, but SO worth it to be able to see everyone all at once.

In January we travelled to Hawaii! We attended a family wedding in Oahu, and I have to admit...it was the most beautiful place I have ever seen with these two eyeballs.

In February I sold my old, hand-me-down car on Craigslist, and bought a brand new Toyota Corolla. This was my first major purchase EVER, and took a lot of time and waffling before I made a decision. Once I did make a decision, I felt so adult for having completed everything on my own.

This year I have continued on my journey to health. I try to eat healthy, whole foods and get in exercise 2-3 times per week. I have several apps that help me keep track of how I am doing throughout the day and week.

We have also had SO much fun this year. Dave and I continue to struggle with finding our place and our niche here in Norfolk, but thanks to some amazing friends (both new & old) we get by. We have made some amazing memories in the two years we've lived here.

I realize now that I have written this that many of these things, if not everything on this list is going to require it's own post. So stay tuned for some more adventures!

PS: One of the biggest reasons for my lack of posting this year has been because of a broken laptop. Now that I have discovered the wonderful Blogger app, I hope to make things more regular. But please bear with me if there are any technical issues, as I will have very limited access to a computer.
