Five Tasty Recipes to Make With the Keurig 2.0

Hey guys! I am so glad it's finally Friday. For real, I thought I might not get through the week. I had such a hard time waking up each morning. 

I was able to though, because my wonderful fiancĂ©e would bring me a cup of coffee each morning in bed. Isn't he the sweetest? It's no secret that I love coffee. So when I received this amazing Keurig 2.0 to try out from Influenster, I was so freaking excited. We used to have a Keurig, but it was about 3 years old, so this is a huge upgrade.

The amazing thing about the new Keurig 2.0 is that it brews whole karafes of coffee at a time. That is such an upgrade from having to brew separate pods for multiple people. And we are big coffee drinkers at our house. 

The only downside is that you can't use "off" brand pods. The Keurig 2.0 will only brew k-cups brewed by Keurig. But I think that is a small price to pay for such convenience and less waste.

I thought it would be fun on this Friday to share five really delicious recipes that you can make on a Keurig. You can probably make this on any Keurig, but I am making them on my new Keurig 2.0 :)

1. Instant Oatmeal

One of the new features of the Keurig 2.0 is that it has a hot water feature. If I was going to brew hot water in my old model, I would just brew without a k-cup. Now I can simply tell my machine to brew me hot water, and I know it will come out without coffee grounds! Simply put your bowl of oatmeal below the spout and you can have a hot breakfast!

2. Dark Mocha

This is something that I do often, because I have such a sweet tooth. One Dark Roast k-cup. One hot chocolate k-cup. Mix in a larger cup (or a travel mug). This is a perfect combination of strong coffee and sweetness.

3. Pumpkin Spice (because PSL!)

One Pumpkin spice k-cup (I suggest Green Mountain), one Medium Roast K Cup, and half and half. Mix. The best part about mixing the k-cups in the Keurig 2.0 is that you can control the strength, so you are able to get a strong amount of coffee, but only get a few ounces. This makes it so that you wont overflow your mug. Or you can always brew it in your carafe and share!

4. "Affogato"

I put this in quotes because traditional affogato is made with espresso, and this is made with coffee. But that's okay. One Dark Roast k-cup, a couple scoops French Vanilla ice cream. Brew the k-cup to be as strong as it can, and then drizzle it over the ice cream. Enjoy as dessert.

5. A Batch of Iced Coffee

I'm not sure if you are supposed to put the carafe in the fridge, but I've done it and it has been fine. The k-carafe pods can brew to strengths of 3-5 cups. So when I make iced coffee (since I add cream), I brew it to be 3 cups strong. It will still fill most of the carafe. I then refrigerate the carafe, and drink when it is cold. I think one of the best parts about the carafe pods is that they are recyclable. Much better than the normal k-cups.
