Wedding Planning Weekend Recap

Well this weekend went by in a whirlwind! I just got back from Rochester where there was a significant amount of wedding planning, family time, and puppy snuggling going on. It was absolutely exhausting, but I had a blast.

The majority of the weekend was spent dress shopping. We went to a number of bridal shops, but my absolute favorite was Stella's Bridal  Boutique in Leroy, NY. Stella and her staff made me feel like a queen, and everything was so personalized. This was the first place we went to, and I am 99.99% sure that we found my dress there! I have to go back in May to put in my order.

We also had a hot minute for Miss Caroline to try on a dress. In true Diva fashion she wore a flower crown to the dress appointments, and I think that just works perfectly for her as a junior bridesmaid!

I also finally got to see the venue! It was beyond freezing and snowy on the day we went (it's a good thing I was prepared!), but I could not stop daydreaming about what it will be like for us next summer. The barn was full of rustic touches, but was still very elegant. There were thousands of twinkle lights! Also, they are putting up a new, vintage chandelier, which I'm very excited about!

I can't wait to have our friends and family gathered together on our day. I think it will be everything I dreamed of and  more.

On Friday night my family and my grandparents went out to see my brother sing in his college's Spring Choir Concert. He is a Sports Marketing major, but he likes to sing in the choir (and he is good at it--he gets a scholarship!). I'm glad he is continuing to do something that he loves even if some of his friends sometimes don't consider it "cool."

It was also really nice to have all my siblings in one place! we make a nice looking group, I would say. :)

On Sunday before I flew out, my Mom and I had a few minutes to do some wedding DIYs. I posted this photo to Instagram, because I am just in love with how these turned out. They are going to eventually turn in to table numbers for some family style tables in the barn. Oh Pinterest, thank you for all the inspiration.

I can't wait to get back to see my family in May, but this time with Dave! I'm already counting down the days!

  3. What a successful trip! Any chance you have the tutorial to the table numbers? I'm so glad you had a great dress & venue experience. You know I love the thought of a barn wedding/reception and it sounds like yours will be beautiful! I'm so happy you got to do so much for your wedding on this trip.

  4. I don't have one written yet (I left all the stuff at my parents house in NY) but I can definitely write one! I saw these on Pinterest, and didn't really look around for a tutorial. I just got the numbers from Michaels/Hobby Lobby and then used spray adhesive to cover them in glitter.

  5. She is truly a diva. She would not have it that she couldn't try on a dress too!

  8. Oh okay, sounds like I could handle that. My friend is wanting glitter table numbers for her wedding as well, so I'll have to pass that along. :)
