It's Fri... What?

Guys... I don't even know where my brain is this week. I tell you, you switch up my schedule, throw in plans to travel home in a couple weeks, have a fiancĂ© studying for his GRE, and you have one Al who's brain is shut off.

Anywho… I’ve been working on a couple of posts, but I can’t seem to get the words the way I want them. I promise I will get myself together for next week. In honor of Friday, I thought it would be good to just let you know a couple of things going on in my life, what’s on my mind, and general things like that.

ONE || I’m going to be a bridesmaid! One of my BFFs from College is getting married in September, and I am thrilled to be standing with her as she marries the love of her life!! She sent the cutest little packet with the nicest note inside.

TWO || Speaking of wedding things... my flipping engagement ring broke! Remember when I told you guys how to take care of your rings.... well apparently I SUCK AT IT! There I was typing away at my work computer, when I look down and OMG I'M MISSING A DIAMOND!!! Luckily The ring is under warranty at Zales, and they are paying to repair it and replace the stone. I cannot stress this enough- get a warranty on your jewelry if possible and insurance.

THREE || There is this newish restaurant in Norfolk called Zeke's Beans and Bowls, and they sell poke bowls and acai bowls. This is basically like heaven in my mouth, and makes me feel like I'm in Hawaii. I may or may not stop home there sometimes on my way home from work (shh... don't tell Dave!).

FOUR || Also speaking of food, Dave and I went out to eat last weekend for a fundraiser, and I got a sloe gin SLUSHY. It was the bomb, and I think that now I need to consume all alcoholic beverages in slushy form.

FIVE || I upgraded my phone while I was home in Rochester! I am now using a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and LOVE it. It is definitely a two handed phone, but I love using it for emailing, social media, and blogging. I had a hard time choosing (let's face it, it took me months), but I'm glad I took my time. #firstworldprobz

Have a great weekend friends!!

  1. That's a bummer about your ring! I'm sure it'll get fixed up in no time though. That acutally happened to my ring when I was engaged...So I guess it's not super uncommon!

  2. Congrats on being a bridesmaid! So exciting. I have a college roommate getting married in September too! And that totally sucks about your ring; I'm so glad they're fixing it all for you though. Now, I want a slushy myself. Have a great weekend!

  3. I know! She lives about 7 hours away, so it stinks a little bit that we won't get to actually plan together, but I'm so excited that we are experiencing it together. Her wedding is going to be beautiful (and very different from mine!). I feel naked without my ring, and I'm hoping that they finish it by Friday. We have our photos next Monday!

  4. I guess not! The lady at Zales was very calm about it, and said this is why they do the bi-annual inspections. As long as they'll fix it!

  5. Alcoholic slushies are the best. Especially in the warm summer months. It's the best of both worlds. That's no good about your ring! I'm glad to hear you have it covered by insurance though!

  6. Did you almost flip when you looked down at your ring?! Because I would have had a stroke! I'm so glad they're replacing the stone. And that bridesmaid package is adorable! I love alcohol in any form, but agree that it's especially tasty as a slushy. Happy Monday!

  9. Sorry to hear about your ring! Side stones are very easy to knock out though since they get hit on everything. That will probably happen multiple times in your lifetime. As long as you have the insurance, you'll be good :) It's happened to me tons of times.

  10. Oh no!! The ladies at Zales really seemed unphased, so I can imagine it happens all the time. I can't believe it though!!
