Welcome, friends! Today I am talking about two of my favorite things--giving gifts and coffee. I knew pretty early on that I wanted to give coffee as our favor. Dave and I are big coffee/caffeine people, and we love to try new coffee shops together.
I am a big fan of consumable favors. Other types of favors are alright, but honestly, I don't want a little tchotchke with your name on it displayed in my house. I love when couples give candy, or food, or some other kind of consumable. Plus, when you have the inevitable leftover favors, you can use them!
One of the first things I purchased for the wedding was this awesome customized stamp. You might remember it from all the way back in February '15. I ordered it from Your New Friend Sam on Etsy, and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out.
We stamped some small kraft paper bags, and they were just waiting to be filled! This was something that I did way ahead of time on a random Sunday afternoon. It was so nice to be able to have it done early.
We ordered bulk coffee beans of the Steady Hand Blend from Three Ships Coffee Roasters in Virginia Beach. I estimated about 25 pounds would work for 200 guests. We did have some left over (which is delicious, and it has been gone for a long time!). I chose the Steady Hand blend because it is a very accessible blend of coffee. Not too strong, but not a weird flavor either.
We stuffed zip lock bags with the whole beans and then wrapped those in the kraft paper bags. I used some gold and white string to tie a bow around them.
The favors were set out on a table with hot coffee and other beverages that most people drank during dessert. I bought those boxes at Target because I loved that they had the chalkboard on the front.
What are your favorite favors to receive? Did you give something fun to your wedding guests?
Now it’s your turn to link-up and share your wedding tales. I love reading all about your big day, someone else’s wedding adventures, or anything else wedding related. Nikki and I just can’t wait to read all about it!
