Review: Tarte Beauty Haul

A couple of weeks ago, I got an email that Tarte Cosmetics was having a sale on a bundle of their products. They were selling 7 items for $63 and free shipping. You guys, that is $9 per item. That price is better than a lot of drugstore makeup! For Tarte!

Of course I had to make an order. Even if it was stuff I hadn't used before, this was a perfect time to try something new!

The website prompted you to choose one item from each category. They were doing bundles containing 1 makeup bag, 1 foundation or concealer, 1 blush or bronzer, 1 lip product, 1 eyeliner, 1 mascara and 1 brush. Basically a full face, worth over $164.

Unicorn Fabric Cosmetics Bag - not for regular sale
I love this bag. It is fairly large, and the material is thick. It kind of has a snakeskin texture and is iridescent (hence "unicorn fabric"). This is actually the perfect size for me to keep chargers and other cords together in my desk, so even though it is gorgeous and meant for makeup, I use it more as a storage container.

Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Airbrush Foundation | Light Sand - originally $36
I've used this foundation before, and loved it. I'm finding that as we have more sunlight, my previous foundation was looking a little too light on my skin. I ordered this in light sand, and the shade is perfect. I also prefer a powder foundation like this for the hot, summer months, because it does not leave you feeling oily in ANY way.

Bronze & Glow Contour Brush - originally $34
When I had the Amazonian Clay powder foundation a few years ago, I bought it with a small kabuki brush. While that brush was great, it was just kind of short, and I didn't love using it. So when I was making this order, I knew that I wanted to get something to use with the foundation. This Bronze & Glow brush is super dense, and perfect for dipping into the pot of foundation. It spreads the product across your face very evenly, and I love that I can use the small brush side for under my eyes.

Colored Clay Bronzer Blush | Pink Bronze - originally $30
I'm not sure where this has been all my life, but I get so many compliments on this blush. I use it to flush up my cheeks (and sometimes a little bit on my forehead), and it looks SO natural. There isn't any sparkle or shimmer to it, and it gives a nice, even tone. Plus, Tarte blushes last forever.

Lipsurgence Skintuitive Lip Tint | Energy Noir - originally $24
You all know that I am obsessed with my Lipstick Queen Frog Prince lip tint, so of course when I saw that this tint adjusts to your body temperature/chemistry I had to get it. In the stick, the tint looks very dark purple, but on it looks like a pinkish berry color. Plus, Tarte's lip products all have a vanilla/mint scent, which I love. I am currently keeping this in my wristlet for everyday use.

Lights, Camera, Action Precision Longwear Liquid Eyeliner | Black - originally $20
I love me some black eyeliner, and I love it even more when it is a liquid/pen applicator. But this one is a little bit too sharp for me. You really have to press into your eye to apply it (ouch), and it comes out in a pretty thin line. While the formula is good, I'm just not impressed enough by the applicator to use this every day.

Best in Faux Lash Extend Fibers | Black - originally $20
This is a product that I love/hate. It comes with two tubes, one of mascara and one of the fibers. I'm not sure what happened to the mascara in my order, but it came in incredibly dry. Almost unusable. So I've been using the fibers with my Urban Decay Perversion Mascara, and it looks great. I love a big, thick, bold lash for everyday wear, so I'm all about these fibers.
