Review: VIICode Oxygen Eye Masks

*This post is sponsored by VIIcode. All opinions are my own.
I've had dark circles under my eyes my whole life. I can remember being very young (5 or 6?) and noticing that about myself. Also, I was a weird child. They weren't really related to tiredness either. I could wake up fresh as a daisy, and they would still be there. It's just part of my skin tone.

Now that I am in my late 20s (yikes...), I still have those dark circles, but have been using concealer and foundation to mask them for the last 10 years.

Since I turned 25, I have really been trying to take care of my skin. I have oily/combination skin, so I try to be REALLY careful about the products I put on my face. Products that feature natural ingredients are what I gravitate to a lot, because I don’t feel so bad about putting tons of gross chemicals on my face.

When my skin is in good shape, I wear less makeup. Everything was going so great, but I was really bothered by the dark circles under my eyes that stayed no matter what I tried.

When VIIcode reached out to me and asked if I would like to try out their under eye masks, it was really a no-brainer. They sent me their Oxygen Eye Mask for Dark Circles to try out over the course of a couple weeks.

The eye mask pads are made of a gel-like material, which allows oxygen to flow to your skin the whole time you wear them. The blend of natural ingredients encourages cell regeneration in the skin.

These mask pads are a little bit different from anything else I’ve tried before, because you wear them overnight. They should be worn for about 8 hours at a time, 2-3 times per week. Each box comes with 6 packets (which contain two pads each). VIIcode suggests 3 boxes for a “full treatment.” The easiest place to purchase them is on Amazon.

But honestly you don’t even need the “full treatment,” because you will notice a difference right away. I have to admit that I was a little hesitant to like these at first, because they tingle a little bit when you first put them on. I quickly got used to it though, and didn't realize that I had been reading with them on my face for a few hours.

After wearing these eye mask pads overnight, my under eye area was lighter and less puffy. I didn’t need to wear as much concealer as I normally would. Also, these are great if you keep them in the fridge. My face got a little bit sunburned, and they felt like HEAVEN on my skin after that.

Personally, I didn’t really like to sleep with these on, since they tend to fall off my face. I am also a stomach sleeper, so that might be part of it. I find that they work the best for me when I wear them on the weekend when I’m relaxing, or in the evenings when I’m watching TV or reading.

I don’t think this is a miracle product, but I do think that they are great to use when you need to look and feel refreshed. They are gentle and don’t cause irritation, which makes them perfect to use before you have a big event or are getting your photo taken.
